A 4000 signature petition was presented to the council against Sharphill development – in June 2006

And today Rushcliffe Council is busy,  in private,  discussing the recommendations of 15 councillors on the Local Development Framework.   Why do these public representatives and officers need to do it secretly ?  Perhaps its to avoid the fuss and bother they faced seven years ago,  as described in the attached minutes of the Council Minutes 15th June 2006.

At the opening of that meeting a petition of 4000 signatures was presented to the elected representatives. Little wonder Jeremy Paxman has sympathy with Russell Brand’s view that people are turning away from politics.

Here is a bright photo taken in Sharphill Wood on the day before bonfire night,  why not take a walk up there and see the colours ?
